How to Clean Boat Vinyl Seats the Right Way

Good Price Detailing · Southeast Florida

Why vinyl gets dirty fast

Sunscreen, salt, spills and mildew collect in the texture and seams of marine vinyl. Strong sun then bakes the dirt in.

Start with a rinse

Rinse the seats with fresh water to remove salt and loose dirt before you scrub, so grit does not scratch the surface.

Clean gently

Use a mild soap or a marine-safe vinyl cleaner and a soft brush. Work in small sections, pay attention to seams, and avoid stiff brushes and harsh chemicals.

Rinse and dry

Rinse well so no residue is left behind, then dry the seats with a clean towel or let them air dry in the shade.

Handle stains early

Wipe spills, bait and sunscreen quickly. The longer a stain sits in the sun, the harder it is to remove.
