How Often Should You Clean Your Boat in South Florida?

Good Price Detailing · Southeast Florida

Why South Florida is tough on boats

Salt air, strong sun and year-round humidity mean dirt, sunscreen, salt crystals and mildew build up faster here than in most places. Left alone, buildup gets harder to remove and leaves surfaces looking tired.

A simple schedule

After every outing, rinse the boat with fresh water, wipe down seats and glass, and let the cabin air out. Every few weeks, give the deck, seats and stainless a proper clean. Once or twice a year, book a full detail inside and out.

Adjust for how you use the boat

Fishing boats pick up bait, blood and odors and need cleaning after each trip. Boats that sit at the dock mostly collect salt film, dust and mildew, so a regular schedule matters even if you rarely go out.

Keep an eye on the cabin

Humidity is the main cause of musty smells. Leave hatches or vents cracked when it is safe, use moisture absorbers, and wipe damp areas before closing up.

When to call a pro

If you do not have the time, the dock access or the equipment, a mobile cleaning service can come to your marina or dock and handle it for you.
