Canvas and fabric covers have manufacturer care instructions. Follow them first.
Rinse with fresh water, then use a soft brush and mild soap. Avoid stiff brushes that can wear the fabric.
Soap left in fabric attracts dirt. Rinse until the water runs clear.
Let canvas air dry fully before folding or storing it. Damp fabric grows mildew quickly in Florida.
Cleaning cannot fix torn stitching or failing fabric. If it is worn out, ask a canvas specialist.
